I would have to say it's probably the most
important factor in building any business. If you were not
motivated you wouldn't have gotten out of bed, what would be the
reason? I mean would it not be easier to simply just lay there and
watch television all day? That's not practical is it? Perhaps you
have kids to get off to school, a job to go to, errands to run - you
have a life. Well that's all it is - a reason to do something, to
satisfy a need, to accomplish a task.
The
Problem
Many
people don't understand "delayed
gratification". If you get off the sofa to get a sandwich you
were motivated to get the sandwich because you knew that before long
your hunger would be satisfied. that's "instant
gratification".
The work your doing in your business
today may not be realized for quite some time. You are expected to
dedicate time and effort to accomplish a task and not see financial
results for quite some time - yea right!
Well like it or not this is the reality, a doctor does not start
seeing patients after a month in med. school neither does a lawyer
defend a client after only a short time in law school. These are but
two professions where one must dedicate a great deal of time effort
and money in the hopes to satisfy their desire for a financially
rewarding future. these students knew there would be a price to pay, and they were willing
to pay it, they were investing in their future.
You are doing the same thing - minus the huge price tag of schooling.
Does this mean that the rewards match the money spent on education. The answer
is no.
I have friends that are both Doctors and lawyers, it's not all the glory
one might think. The responsibility associated with these two professions
is enormous - your better off selling cosmetics!
The reason many Representatives quit then is because they have very little invested
financially (hey if it doesn't work I'm only out a few bucks), and they
expect a doctors income the first campaign.
Bringing it All Together
This is almost too easy, you quit you fail (regardless of your investment).
You now understand this is not a get rich quick scheme, the fact
that you started a business for the cost of a trip to
MacDonald's makes it no less a business than the doctor that has tens
of thousands tied up in his education and overhead each month.
I ask you who is smarter the doctor or the Direct Selling Representative?
The answer depends on what you consider smart - probably the Doctor
but up against a savvy Representative who understands the rules and has to ability to motivate herself
and her downline. A Representative who has the power to; with her
help provides an escape to others looking for financial freedom.
I would have to say the docs may be book smart but the Salesperson. with the six figure
income gets my respect, and she did it with a small investment!
Staying Motivated
This is the only hard part - getting and staying
motivated, doing things that are uncomfortable for you doing them
again and again and again, all with no noticeable financial rewards
(that six figure income). I suppose it depends on how you were
raised, I was taught to believe there was nothing I couldn't do if I
set my mind to it I can help others along the way, that's just fine
for me! But what if you were not raised in such a positive
environment? Perhaps you have a husband that puts you down and
belittles your "Network Marketing Business". Well I'm here to tell you,
you can do it if others have realized their dreams with this type of selling why
not you? Are they better than you? Smarter than you? Not they may be
supported and encouraged by their husband or boyfriend, Perhaps they
KNOW WHY the are doing this. Until you have a reason you won't do
it, you won't go the extra distance, hand out the brochures, invite
new ladies into your business, you'll live the life others have
programmed you into believing you can't succeed. By the way ever
heard the saying "success is the best
revenge"?
Dream Shopping
OK here's the meat - someone is buying those new 3000 sq foot homes,
big fancy diamonds, taking fabulous trips around the world. Why not you?
No Really I mean it, why not you?
As soon as you understand that YOU CAN make it your life will change,
but just like getting out of bed all you need is a reason FIND YOUR REASON!!!
Shop till you drop - just leave the cash at home, do it; do it now;
and do it often, and remember to teach your downline what you've
learned and get them shopping and dreaming!
Love The Refrigerator
Since this is where we go most often (I go far too often) put your dreams on the fridge, either write
it down of put up a picture, you will be reminded of your reason each
time you grab the handle. You will be amazed at how powerful this is,
I use it all the time and it works!
Money Can't Buy Happiness
It can't buy
poverty either!
Don't make excuses and get all self righteous, there is nothing wrong with making an
obscene income, if your uncomfortable with all that money, give it away
I'm sure there is a cause that could use your charity, and all the Ladies that are now financially
secure because of your effort and assistance I'm sure appreciate it.
