Why would anyone want to go into leadership? Isn't there a lot of work to do? What if I don't like the ladies I sign up?
The list goes on and on ....
What if you made several thousands of dollars each month because you learned the business, and and passed that information on in the form of mentorship?
You can only make so much as a direct sales representative selling anything. wealth is realized by leveraging your time.
In other words. would you rather have 100% of your efforts (actually for this scenario lets use 40% of your sales - a fair average).
Lets say you sold $300.00 per campaign, at 40% that would be $120.00 to you.
What if you had 100 lst generation ladies each selling $300.00? That would be 300 X 100 = $30,000 in sales and
your paid at leadership level of 7% = $30,000 X 7% = $2,100 + your own efforts of $120.00 = $2,220.00.
Naturally the numbers are just for illustration, order sizes will vary, but the point is simply this.
Yes you will have to work at it. Yes you may have to deal with some difficult ladies and no it's not going to happen over night.
It will happen when you sell out to YOUR business. As to why would someone want to go into leadership - A better question would be why wouldn't they?
Are
You Leadership Material?
Do you understand that in order for you to succeed you first need to help someone else succeed? You are not in this buy yourself, you can't be selfish with all that cool Avon Info you've amassed over the years. Those little selling secrets
you can't keep to yourself. Sounds pretty simple doesn't it? You can't assume that the new Representative that you just signed up can go it on her own, perhaps she can but she will grow and blossom
if you take the time to help her. Does this mean you do it all - of coarse not but she will need a mentor - you signed her, that's you.
Sometimes Ladies get into leadership with only themselves in mind, they may perhaps be good a recruiting but when it comes to training they fall flat.
You will be compensated for your efforts. If you sign them and forget them don't be surprised when they fail remember don't let someone elses failure be on you because you were in only for yourself,
if they fail it needs to be because they didn't want it bad enough.
Learn To Expect
If you expect nothing from your downline that's what you'll get - nothing. Our time is valuable, we make ourselves available to our downline, give them tasks to progress with their business, plan meetings and expect them to come to the meetings and do that which they
are asked to do. Why? Because we understand the importance of providing pertinent business information to our ladies.
We make it available but we don't have time to chase them - if their business is not important to them why would it be important to us. This does perhaps sound cold but this is after all a business as mentioned in the
link Business or Hobby we know at the beginning what the desires of each Representatives are, some will need more help than others but all are provided assistance if they want it.
Tending Your Crop
If you fail to stay in contact with your downline you will more than likely lose them. They have their own lives to live and sometimes Avon is the farthest from their mind.
Think of it this way. A big oak tree has a massive root system, that root system has developed over the decades. This mighty tree
has weathered many storms and it would take a very strong wind to blow it over.
So as the mighty oak tree, so does your new Representative need strong roots. Those roots are developed between you
and her, the more nurturing, the stronger the root system. If a representative is left on her own especially at the beginning she will not
develop her root system, shrivel up and die (figuratively speaking).
I like this plant comparison so lets continue. Your new Recruit is the seed, you are the farmer,
Avon is the soil. Now as the farmer where did you plant that seed? Did it get good soil (Avon Business Training) or did it get left to blow in the wind,
hoping to land in some rich soil elsewhere?
OK, so your plant is starting to sprout, you've watered it, nourished it, and loved it. What a lovely plant and what's this, oh my its
growing leaves but those aren't just leaves, OH Goodness, those are hundred dollar bills, and they said money doesn't grow on trees!
I'm very proud of my little story, I think it's a great analogy, here's something to think about.
What about the weeds, what are they? And how will you prune your plant or does it need it?.
Alright then, I'll tell you...
The weeds are the nay sayer's that try to destroy your little plant, life problems, bickering with hubby, the kids, the job. This is the crucial time for your new little plant, be
understanding of the weeds and help her deal with her problems if you can.
Your time is limited, some plants although you give it your best efforts refuse to grow. Weed them out, you don't have time to waste on those that can't or won't grow roots.
Here is more to think about.
The sun = your acknowledgement of her achievements.
The fertilizer = dreams you have developed with her.
Watering = The kindness you've shown her with recognition at meetings.
The Crop = Her downline and other downlines like her, all covered with branches all with leaves.
If you want to be the best darn Avon Farmer out there you better look after your crop!
Did your leadership leave you behind? Did you
get signed up and are now left on your own? That's too bad but I
suspect your not alone. You only have two choices. Give up and blame
your failure on your leadership or do like your doing now, educate
yourself with this site and others like it. The good news is this. You
will have learned the value of being a good leader and if you proceed,
won't let it happen to your downline. You will have taken control
of your business, you will grow it yourself and have no one
to thank for your success. When you do reach the greatness you
aspire to send a postcard to your upline, thank them for all the
help and relax on the chaise lounge on some exotic beach far far
away.
